Ceramic Slab Sidetable (Pâte de Verre light)
This side table is hand-built from irregular clay slabs, assembled in a way that highlights and honors the raw, imperfect edges of each slab. The interplay between the slab’s hard lines and the soft gradient of the glaze brings depth and a sense of motion to the surface.
The light fixture’s glass shade was created using the pâte de verre technique—a process where glass is ground into a fine powder, mixed with a binder and a fluxing agent, then packed into a plaster mold. Once dried, the piece is kiln-fired to fuse the glass. After cooling and annealing, the shade is carefully removed from the mold and refined through cold working.
A piece where form speaks of process, and light lives gently within matter.
Ceramic Slab Sidetable (Pâte de Verre light) functions as a side table and a floor lamp for residential spaces.
